Being intertwined with oceanography for the past couple of years in my life, I have investigated the influence of river discharge on heavy metals and marine heat waves in the Possession Sound solidifying my love for marine systems. Within the University of Washington, a more biological approach has been taken in my research, focusing on the class of the hybrid cluster protein in the low-light Prochlorococcus ecotype located in the Eastern Tropical North Pacific, with future studies including the role of this protein in Prochlorococcus.
